We started this blog for our wedding guests to be able to get all the latest news, gossip, and drama of the pending nuptials. OK, so we won't have that much drama, but we thought it would be nice for our friends and family to be part of our journey toward matrimony.
Most of you know, but for those who didn't get the origins story, Mandy and Neil met in a sleepy little town in southern Belize in May 2010. Mandy was there leading her PSU Pre-Health Volunteer group as they provided on-site medical clinics to rural villages. Neil was there on a research fellowship from KU, learning about how villagers access medical care. After a too-short week of spending time together, a spark of interest grew over a summer of emails. Once they were both back in the Midwest the romance blossomed.
A heavy storm in February dropped 18" of snow, but that didn't stop Mandy and Neil from enjoying one of their favorite weekend activities--a walk in the woods at Wilderness Park with a pause at "Pooh Bridge". This time, however, Neil cleared a patch of ground so he could kneel and pop the question. Which brings us, finally, to this blog.
We're looking forward to having our friends and family help us celebrate the joining together of our lives on June 9, 2012, in Pittsburg, KS. We'll update this blog with more information soon. Happy Holidays!
